October Athlete Sports Performance Training
All sports demand explosive power, speed, stamina, quick directional changes and fast reaction time. The goal of Storm's Performance Training Program is to physically prepare athletes to meet these demands in order to compete at the highest level.
Our trainers are certified and experienced in training athletes in various sports in-season and off-season. We train athletes to perform.
WE'LL BE HAVING TWO LOCATIONS IN OCTOBER.
- Our new Broadway Location in Downtown trains on Sunday's, Monday's & Wednesday's
- Our Leopard Location in the TM/Calallen area trains on Tuesday's & Wednesday's
Sports Performance Training
Our Standard Performance Training Program is geared around speed, agility, and quickness. It is a small Group Workout designed to improve coordination, strength, quickness, increase vertical, and prevent injury, through effective and efficient form in drills that encompass:
- Acceleration- applying as much force as possible into the ground to explode from a still or slow moving stance, while having good shin angles and body angles
- Deceleration- slowing down and breaking from sprinting
- Jumping- preventing knee valgus (collapsing ) and/or pushing forward when loading hips to jump, and using as much force on two legs or one leg
- Landing- preventing knees and ankles (the joints) from absorbing force after jumping by learning how to use leg and hip muscles to absorb force instead
- Sprinting - Applying as much force as possible with solid knee lifts, and striking the ground using the balls of the feet. Many athletes heel strike when they sprint in their Athlete Assessment and don't even realize it. Heel striking while running or sprinting over time will lead to shin splints, and foot, ankle, knee, hip and low back pain. Sprint drills also ensure efficient arm swing, and stability through the core
- Cutting- being as efficient (quick, agile, and coordinated) as possible during change of direction
- Backpedaling- retreating (backward movement) motion, where the athlete maintains "nose over toes" posture and efficient arm action
- Lateral movement - learning how to side shuffle by starting and maintaining an athletic stance throughout the movement and being efficient by not clicking the heels and bobbing up and down
- All Sessions in our training center will be group oriented for up to a maximum of 8 athletes.
- Open to all athletes regardless of club, school or sport affiliation.
- MUST BE IN GRADES 6TH - 12TH: On each day of training we have middle school and high school sessions

Our beginner performance training program is designed to start young athletes with good habits while they're young. This program is designed to teach 3rd -5th graders the basics of training and performance.

- Thursday's At Leopard Location @ 5:30pm
Speed Agility Strength Once Or Twice Weekly
It is a great program for any athlete who wants to improve their speed and quickness while become more agile and stronger.
Our Speed, Agility, Strength schedule this month will be as follows:
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 1pm - 2pm
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 2pm-3pm
Monday's @ Broadway
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Tuesday's @ Leopard
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Wednesday @ Broadway
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Thursday's @ Leopard
- All Ages (6th-12th) - 6:30pm - 7:30pm
- Sunday's @ 3:00pm

Jump Strength Training Program
Our Jump Strength Training Program for athletes grades 7th-12th who have completed our Jump Technique Program. This is the next stage of development where we continue to focus on technique while building the strength base for your jump. These will be limited programs for athletes that meets twice weekly. Each program will be limited to 8 total athletes.
Jump Training will be able to schedule it's two workouts a week this month based around the following schedule.
Workout 1
- Sunday @ Broadway at 4pm
- Monday @ Broadway at 7:30pm
Workout 2
- Wednesday @ Broadway at 7:30pm
- Thursday @ Leopard @ 7:30pm
